The morning air was cool and I could almost taste autumn.
What does autumn taste like?
It tastes of woodsmoke and falling leaves.
Crisp, clean air, and warm hoodies.
A delicious blend of late afternoon sunshine, coffee, and old books.
Rain and s’mores.
Cinnamon, chai tea, and holding hands.
School bells, backpacks, and hugs.
Most of all, it tastes of time standing still, new beginnings, and butterflies in bellies.
My favorite thing about summer, is that autumn is waiting in the wings.
